Entering the Portuguese market was a result of UKTI Lisbon initiative called "Algarve Roadshow – Food & Drink for Tourist/Expat Markets" held in June 2006 in Algarve, a key destination for British tourists.

“We took part in the Algarve Road show in June 2006 initially just to showcase our product as we were entering a new market. The UKTI team organised the road show and briefed us on the market trends, popular brands, and the expat market. To enhance this we were taken on store visits where we had the chance to review pricing and brand varieties and to identify any gaps in the market” says Seema Khade (founder of Pasco Spices - along with her husband)

This event, that gathered more than forty British companies and distributor/local retailers, was divided into three different sessions over two days:
• Store visits to key local supermarkets
• Meet the Buyer (meetings face to face with distributors)
• Networking Dinner with distributors, supermarkets and key local food service operators

Pasco Spices & Herbs was one of the companies attending the event that had several meetings with Portuguese distributors. As a result, Pasco found a suitable distributor for their products and is now distributing country wide in Portugal.

“We were not distributing to Portugal so we have achieved a new market” says Seema Khade.

Pasco Spices & herbs won a new business in Portugal but it was the Portuguese Indian Food lovers who won in variety and quality!!!!!
