"Passport services in Portugal and Spain were joined to create a single issuing centre called the UK Passport Service Iberia"

 

On 12 November 2007, full UK passport services in Portugal and Spain were joined to create a single issuing centre called the UK Passport Service Iberia. This is based in the British Consulate-General in Madrid (NB: all other consular services continue to be provided by our 5 Portuguese posts). This change has been carefully managed to ensure that service levels remain high: straightforward applications with correctly submitted supporting documents continue to be processed within 10 working days of receipt at the British Consulate-General Madrid. In partnership with Barclaycard, passport applicants can now pay by Visa and Mastercard. We are now dispatching passports directly to customers via DHL courier service. Find out more about their  fees.

We are committed to ensuring that the quality of the passport service offered to British nationals throughout the Iberian Peninsula remains high.
